Come with me

🎬 1
β€œHi, I’m Val. Come and see my Pilates studio.”
(Walk. No talking.)
Open studio doors. Turn on music (lemon jelly)

β€œThis is where ............”
🌿 This is where I teach calm, controlled Pilates for strength, balance and longevity. If you’re looking for real Pilates β€” not trends β€” you’re in the right place. #LongevityTraining
Location / Notes: Location: Kitchen β†’ garden β†’ studio. No talking during walk. Let the space speak. Open studio doors to camera. Soft natural light.

Control before speed

🎬 2
β€œMost people move too fast.
Speed hides mistakes.
If you can’t do it slowly... you don’t own it.”
Speed hides your mistakes. Slow, controlled Pilates builds deep core strength, joint stability and real balance. Stop rushing your workouts. #SlowPilates
Location / Notes: Location: Studio mat. Camera side angle. Begin movement before first word.

Experience

🎬 4
 "Strength changes as you age,
It becomes more precise. Less dramatic.
But more powerful."
Do you train for strength? Strength changes as we age β€” but it does not disappear. Consistency matters more than intensity. I have been teaching a long, long time, #StrengthTraining #PilatesOver50
Location / Notes: Location: Standing in studio, direct to camera. No movement. Still. Let the words carry it.

Balance

🎬 5
(start balancing before speaking.)
 "Balance isn't about standing still.
It's about small corrections.
(Slight wobble β€” visible, unhurried.) (Pause.)

If you stop challenging your balance, you lose it."
Balance training for women over 50 is non-negotiable. If you stop challenging your balance, you lose it. #BalanceTraining #StrongAtAnyAge
Location / Notes: Location: Natural light. Single leg balance. Let the wobble be seen. Pause before final line.

🎬 6
"Pilates isn't 'good for you.
Discipline is.
(Pause. Direct eye contact.)
You gotta have discipline."
Pilates was designed by Joseph Pilates to develop strength, flexibility, balance, and inner awareness. #Discipline #PilatesMindset #LongevityTraining
Location / Notes: Location: Studio. Standing still. Dry delivery. No smile until the end if at all. Distinctive tone β€” not motivational, factual.

Breath

🎬 7
 "Don't hold your breath -
 This isn't a hostage situation." (
Exhale audibly. Pause.)

Again."
Holding your breath during exercise increases tension β€” not strength. Breath is not decoration in Pilates. It is the mechanism. Learn to use it properly and everything changes. #Breathwork #PilatesBreathing #CoreControl

Is Pilates hard?

🎬 8
"Pilates isn't hard. Precision is hard.
(Pause.)
That's why most people avoid it."
Pilates is not hard. Precision is hard. Concentration is hard. Slowing down is hard. Most people avoid precision, thats why they don't get results. #PrecisionTraining #IsHard

Age "Women tell me they feel weaker after 50. (
Pause.)
You're not weaker,
You are  deconditioned. (Pause.) There is a difference."
You are not weaker after 30, 40 or 50. You are deconditioned. There is a difference. Pilates rebuilds strength, coordination and confidence at any age. The body responds. It always does. #PilatesOver50 #StrengthAtAnyAge #Menopause
Location / Notes: Location: Walking slowly through studio. Let the pause do the work after 'you're not weaker'. Calm and factual β€” not motivational.

Posture

🎬 10
"How is your posture at your desk?
Something like this ??? (
Demonstrate rounded shoulders
Or like this ! (β†’ correct alignment.)
This isn’t cosmetic. It’s energy.”
Your desk posture affects your spine, your breathing and your energy levels. Pilates improves posture and back strength, especially for professionals and anyone sitting 8+ hours. #BackPainRelief #DeskPosture #CorporateWellness
Location / Notes: Location: Val standing in studio. Two positions β€” rounded then aligned. Hold the corrected posture for 3 seconds minimum.

Posture

🎬 11
"Executives lose mobility first.
Eight to ten hours at a desk. Back tightens. Hips lock. Shoulders round."
Eight to ten hours at a desk changes your body β€” whether you notice it or not. Back tightens. Hips lock. Shoulders round forward. Pilates reverses this. Precisely and permanently. #BackPainRelief #CorporateWellness #PostureCorrection

Most people think core strength starts in the abdomen. In Pilates, it starts in the feet. In the alignment of the whole body. #PilatesCore #CoreStrength #PilatesTechnique

1984 β€” Archive RTE footage remake

🎬 15
1984 β€” Archive RTE footage remake
In 1984, I won second place in a Ladies' national bodybuilding competition at the Belltable Theatre, Limerick, Ireland. I was not prepared for the Controversy which sparked when the Bishop of Limerick Dr Jeremiah Newman, questioned "if bodybuilding contests were a valid art form or something that rugged sportsmen might regard as being in dubious taste and that women might find offensive." RTE news broadcast the event and asked ladies in the audience whether it was unladylike and unfeminine, and whether they were offended. I loved their radical, smart and savvy support, which in 1984 was brave. You can watch it here, https://www.rte.ie/archives/2019/0806/1067222-limerick-bodybuilding-contest/ #1984 #WomensStrength #Rebellion

"I don't teach Pilates to look good.
I teach it so you can move.

I don't teach Pilates for aesthetics. I teach it so you can live every day with strength and mobility. Bend. Lift. Travel. Stand straight. Run. Be bold. That is what strong looks like. #StrengthTraining #LongevityMovement

🎬 19
"I don't teach Pilates for weight loss.
I teach it for body alignment.

Pilates was not designed for weight loss. It was designed for strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness. When your alignment is correct, your whole body works more efficiently. Then Weight drops. #PilatesAlignment #BodyAlignment

🎬 22

Pilates for men β€” the origin

🎬 23
"Pilates was invented by a man. For boxers and athletes. (Pause.)
Somewhere along the way, we forgot that."
Joseph Pilates was a man. He developed his method for boxers, athletes, performers and wounded soldiers β€” people who needed serious functional strength. The 'Pilates is for women' idea came much later. #PilatesForMen #MensPilates #CoreStrengthMen
Location / Notes: Location: Studio. Direct to camera. Factual, dry delivery. No props needed β€” just presence.

Pilates for men β€” injury and recover

🎬 24
"Most of the men who come to me arrive the same way -
Via a physiotherapist.
(Pause.)
By the end of the first session, they wonder why they waited."
Men typically come to Pilates through injury β€” back pain, hip issues, post-surgery rehabilitation. By the time they arrive, the physiotherapist has already recommended it. Pilates builds the deep structural strength that prevents re-injury and supports lasting recovery. #PilatesForMen #BackPainRelief #InjuryRecovery
Location / Notes: Location: Studio. Walking or minimal movement. Calm clinical authority β€” not a sales tone.

Pilates for men β€” core strength

🎬 25
"Male athletes use Pilates for one reason.
(Pause.)
Core strength that actually transfers to performance."
Core strength in Pilates is not about visible abs. It is about deep stabilising muscles β€” that protect the spine, drive athletic performance and prevent injury. This is why professional athletes and sports teams do Pilates. #PilatesForMen #AthleteTraining #CoreStrength
Location / Notes: Location: Studio β€” movement demo or direct to camera. Authoritative, clinical tone. No 'gym bro' framing.

Pilates x strength

🎬 36
"People ask, does Pilates build enough strength?
Yes -
it builds Functional strength,
 Postural strength,
Joint strength,
More than enough."
Pilates builds the kind of strength that protects your body over decades. Not the kind you measure in kilos. The kind you measure in how you move at 60, 70, 80. Strength that lasts is structural. Pilates builds that. #PilatesStrength #FunctionalStrength #LongevityTraining

Menopause and Pilates

"Nobody talks about the body in peri-menopause.
Bone density drops.,
Muscle mass lowers,
 Balance becomes unreliable.
(Pause.)
Pilates tackles all of that"
Peri-menopause and post-menopause bring real, structural changes to the body. Bone density. Muscle mass. Coordination and balance. Evidence-based Pilates works directly on all three β€” precisely and progressively. #MenopauseFitness #PeriMenopause #WomensHealth
Location / Notes: Location: Studio. Direct to camera. Calm, clinical tone β€” not alarmist. Val as practitioner, not patient.

Posture and energy β€” the connection

🎬 38
"Posture is not just about appearance,
(Pause.) It is about your breathing -
Compressed posture compresses your lungs.;
Aligned posture opens them."
When your posture collapses, your breathing capacity reduces. Less oxygen. Less energy. More fatigue. Pilates improves structural alignment β€” which improves breathing β€” which improves energy. That is not theory. That is anatomy. #PostureCorrection #BreathingTips #EnergyLevels
Location / Notes: Location: Studio. Standing β€” demonstrate both postures. Hold aligned posture and breathe visibly. Let the contrast be obvious.

Proprioception β€” body awareness, spatial sense, the ability to move without thinking about it. It declines with age if you don't train it. It can be rebuilt if you do.  "Everyone searches for the best core workout.
the answer is not what the algorithm says
 (Pause.)
The best core workout is the one you do with precision. Every time."
There is no best core workout. There is correct technique, consistent practice, and precise execution β€” and these compound over time. Pilates done well is the best core workout you will ever find. Not because it burns. Because it builds. #BestCoreWorkout #PilatesCore #CoreStrength
Location / Notes: Location: Studio mat. Movement demonstration. Calm, direct. This is not trend content β€” it is expertise content.
